Prices and Placing an Order for Semen, Embryos and Live Cattle

Generally, Devon Genetics Australia will quote you a price for semen or embryos that includes the cost of the goods and shipping the goods to your nearest airport.

Generally Devon Genetics Australia will quote you a price for live cattle as if they were delivered to the point of embarkation in Australia ie FAS. (See below for further discussion about freight)

Prices for semen, embryos and live cattle will be quoted in Australian dollars. Depending on the specific needs of Devon Genetics Australia and you, the price in Australian dollars may be converted to another currency. The Australian economy has maintained a strong growth for the past 5 to 10 years. The currency of Australia has appreciated in value against all major currencies since July 2002. Devon Genetics Australia recommends to all clients to take advice from your appropriate consultants and bankers in this matter.

Price conversion to another currency will only occur under the following conditions:

·
Specific agreement between Devon Genetics Australia and you that the Australian price will be converted to another currency
·
The converted price will reflect the conversion rate on the day the goods are shipped, or on some other day specifically agreed between Devon Genetics Australia and you
·
The price quoted to you at the time you place your order, in any currency except Australian dollars, is subject to change. For fluctuations of exchange rates, Devon Genetics Australia will use currency conversion rates of its bankers.

Following these negotiations, Devon Genetics Australia will immediately issue you with a preliminary invoice. Devon Genetics Australia may require you to place a deposit with your order and to confirm payment of your order in the form of a letter of credit or other financial instrument.

Shipping Your Order - Live Cattle

The import protocols for live cattle are often less onerous than for the import of animal products. As with semen and embryo collection there is always the need for quarantine periods. The pre-shipment quarantine period in Australia can often be done on the source property of the cattle. If you are contemplating purchasing live cattle from Devon Genetics Australia, enquire of your national authority about the quarantine protocols in Australia and in your country after arrival.

You as the importer will need our preliminary invoice to obtain an Import Permit or equivalent authorisation in your country. This gives you the authority to import the live cattle from Devon Genetics Australia. We will need the Import Permit from you to commence and then complete export of the animals from Australia.

Australians have vast experience at moving live animals around the world. For valuable livestock such as seedstock cattle and thoroughbred horses we use airfreight. (For shipment of large numbers of feeder cattle and sheep around the world we have specially built livestock ships capable of carrying tens of thousands of animals.)

Shipment of live cattle is common in the cargo decks of regular QANTAS passenger flights. Cargo aircraft companies have regular routes around the world for transporting live cattle. Devon Genetics Australia can assist with shipping arrangements. Negotiation and confirmation with DGA about freighting live cattle to you should be completed prior to placing your order.

Specifically, Devon Genetics Australia will carry out the following as part of the contract with you:

· Comply with the health, customs and import protocols of your country
· Complete the requirements of the Import Permit for your country
· Complete all administrative requirements of the Australian Government and its agencies for shipment of the animals
